The History of Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is an exciting emerging field in wellness care, disease prevention and healing challenges, from transcending trauma to increasing resiliency.  Yoga therapy endeavors to support and strengthen the whole person. Yoga therapists work in small groups or private sessions, addressing specific health problems and adapting poses and practices to fit each unique situation or challenge.. A steady stream of interest in this new field has grown tremendously in recent years; According to the trade group International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), membership has more than tripled in the last three years, and the number of schools offering training has doubled over the past two years.
