Advanced Esalen® Massage (21 CE)

Transitions and Flow

One of the most effective ways to give an exceptional massage is to cultivate in yourself a deep state of presence and flow. When you give touch in a meditative state, your touch can create a transformative experience both for you and for the recipient.

In this advanced Esalen® Massage course, certified Esalen Massage practitioners will deepen their massage practice with a focus on transitions and flow while moving around the body. We will explore flow states through meditation and embodiment practices which you can apply while giving an Esalen Massage. You will also learn specific massage techniques which will help you give your clients an exceptional massage unlike anything they’ve experienced.

You will learn: ways to transition smoothly between seemingly disconnected parts of the body; how to settle the body when repositioning to supine, side lying, and prone; and how to move your client into the side lying position or supine position. We will emphasize flow while applying long strokes in two different directions; ‘dancing’ around the table; and integrating specific work with long strokes and pauses.

Even seasoned practitioners will learn new techniques and gain confidence in their ability to flow seamlessly through a full massage session as an improvisation, rather than as a habit or a sequence.
