Still Point Wellness co-founder Corey Costanzo, MA, LPC, SEP, presented the newly updated North American Float Tank Standard 2025, serving in his role as Chair of the Sanitation & Regulation Committee of the Floatation Tank Association (FTA).
This long-awaited update provides best practices for the sanitation, maintenance, and operation of float tanks across North America. The new standard was co-presented with Dr. Roy Vore, PhD, Microbiologist and Senior Consultant at Vore & Associates, one of the world’s foremost experts in recreational water microbiology.
“I’m honored to chair this committee and help develop a standard that not only protects public health but also supports the longevity of float centers everywhere,” said Costanzo. “This update brings clarity and consistency to our industry, making it easier for centers to work with regulators and for communities to feel confident in floatation therapy as a safe and transformative wellness practice.”
The North American Float Tank Standard 2025 has been restructured to align with the language and format used by health departments, making it easier for float centers to work alongside regulators. This “living document” will be updated regularly as research and industry practices evolve, paving the way for greater public trust and, ultimately, broader recognition of floatation therapy as a safe, evidence-based wellness practice.
